Pirastro P219321 violin string D-3 medium (13), gut core, silver

The Pirastro P219321 D-3 is a four-string choice for violinists seeking the warm, organic tone of a gut string combined with the reliability and clarity of a silver core. Featuring a gut core and silver winding, this string delivers a direct bowing response and clear guidance in legato and staccato figures. With medium tension and a gauge of 13, this D string offers a balanced balance of playing flexibility and stable intonation across the entire fingerboard. It's ideal for classical playing, chamber music, and ensemble work where an authentic gut sound is desired, yet consistent projection and long playing time are required without sacrificing responsiveness. The D position offers a comfortable feel for arpeggios and faster figures, while the silver winding provides added clarity in higher registers. User experience suggests this string offers a comfortable bowing experience with balanced warmth and sustain, making it a good match for other gut or synthetic core strings in a variety of musical styles.
