This can affect your hardware. The Hipshot Tuner Upgrade Kit offers a risk-free way to increase your guitar's stability, so you can enjoy playing (in tune) again!
With the Hipshot tuner you can choose:
- Grip-Lock™ tuners for unparalleled security
- Lightweight classic style for a traditional feel
The included UMP™ (Universal Mount Plate) makes installation easy and requires no special tools. Plus, you can quickly return your guitar to its original state without any traces of the upgrade.
Key Specifications:
- Standard tuning machines fit guitars with 13/32" [10mm] headstock holes
- All tuning machines have a post length of .827" [21mm]
- The UMP™ accommodates 3+3 headstocks with 3 tuners on each side, without drilling or special tools.
Open-gear tuners have standard HS buttons, while closed-gear tuners come with Hex buttons. Many button options are available and can be easily swapped out.
Open gear tuning machines have a ratio of 18:1. Closed gear tuning machines have a ratio of 15:1.
- The Grip-Lock™ option uses a pin and thumbwheel system to clamp onto your string, without the need for wraps
- The Classic option uses a traditional, non-locking string post for weight savings on guitars that experience neck dive
- The string post opening is suitable for strings up to .060"
