This upgrade is perfect for guitarists who want both the added security of Grip-Lock™ tuners and the sleek aesthetic of classic machines. The UMP™ (Universal Mount Plate) allows you to easily upgrade the tuners without drilling or using any special tools.
Here are some key features of the Hipshot tuner upgrade kit:
- Standard tuners are suitable for guitars with 13/32" [10mm] headstock hole
- The included UMP™ fits guitars with 6 tuners on one side, without drilling or special tools
- Open gear tuners come standard with HS knobs; closed tuners have Hex knobs as standard, with many options available
- Last choice for mounting options on the bass or treble side
- Open gear tuners have a ratio of 18:1; closed tuning machines have a ratio of 15:1
- The stacked post option provides each string with the ideal angle over the nut
- The Grip-Lock™ option uses a pin and thumbwheel system to clamp onto your string, without the need for wraps
- The Classic option uses a traditional, non-locking string post for weight savings on guitars with a neck wave
- String post hole accommodates strings up to .060"
